How Old Are You?

When I was a child, I remember asking my father his age one day and his response was "age is a state of mind". For some reason, that has always stuck out in my memory. 25 years later, I wonder if he still feels that way... I adopted his philosophy as mine and today, still embrace it - probably more than ever before.

I feel younger today than I did at age 26, which is a really great gift. We all have different definitions of the word "old" and age, to me, is relative. In my opinion we become old when we stop living.

My grandmother celebrated her 98th Birthday this week and she can still keep up with a dinner party of 25 honoring the occasion. What an inspiration! She makes it so easy for me to see that life is now.

December is my favorite month. I love everything about it. The weather, the decorations, "holiday cheer" and even the inescapable bittersweet moment. It's also the month during which my favorite artist, Eddie Vedder, celebrates a birthday. Red is one of my favorite colors too. I wish it snowed in Florida, have some shopping to do and need new tires and an oil change. My mom chose a really pretty Christmas holiday color theme this year! hmmmmmmmmmmm

I'm grateful for my life but there are moments I have wished I could be something I am not. The best example I can offer is how I've wished I could "shake off" a bad day or strange feeling. Kinda like the dog in this photo. Can you relate?
